Delays today on both MetroRail and TriRail

Something was going on today on the Metrorail, it was the first rainy day since I started taking the trains.  I wonder if rain is a problem for the trains?

I got to the Dadeland South station early and we had to wait 20 minutes for a train.  The MetroRail app did not show delays on the service.  I got on the orange line at Dadeland south.  However to everyone's surprise, at Earlington Heights the train changed to a Green train, so all the passengers quickly exited and waited another 20 minutes for another orange train.

When I got to the MIA Tri-Rail station at 7:49 the train had already left.  I am now sitting on a train that arrived at 7:59 and it was announced that it is supposed to leave the station at 8:20.  Another train has arrived and there are now two trains sitting in the MIA station.
Lesson learned, once the trains were late, I should have taken the Green line train to the Tri-Rail transfer station today in order to catch the earlier train.

Another lesson learned on the way home, was when the Tri-Rail trains are severely delayed, let the first one go because it will be standing room only and won't have a seat to do any work.

TriRail's VIP alerting service is showing 10 minute delays on their trains on their alerting service.  MetroRail's alerting service says it is being updated. Both Tri-Rail and MetroRail have mobile apps for Iphone and Android.  They have alert notifications for delays.

There is a page on the MetroRail website that shows the "single tracking" times where track maintenance will effect scheduled
